Matias is a Finnish/English woodcarver, currently a student at The Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, studying Green Building.
Using naturally fallen wood, Matias carves beautiful and inspiring pendants, spoons and sculptures.
Some pieces are made with power tools, while others are made purely with a carving knife.
His Finnish side is reflected in the representation of nature in his artwork.
Matias also draws inspiration from folklore, mythology and dreams.
