Willow and Basketwork

Vikki is a traditional basket maker & coppice worker living in Snowdonia National Park. After many years of working with plants as a gardener, Vikki wanted to deepen her knowledge of plants & train in practical Ethnobotany, introducing her to the wonderful ways in which plants can be used for their practical & medicinal purposes. Vikki made her first rudimentary baskets on this course in 2016 & in the same year discovered she had been selected to train with the Uk’s most famous woodsman & coppicer Ben Law for a year. This put her new found love for basket making on hold while she gained knowledge in woodland management & traditional coppice crafts. Once Vikki’s year was over Vikki wasted no time to enrol onto a specialised City & Guilds course in traditional basket making, completing the course with 4 distinctions in January 2020.
